Fairburn’s Conquers Kilimanjaro for Farm Africa
In an inspiring show of endurance and generosity, Fairburn’s nine-strong team successfully scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, in September 2014—all in support of Farm Africa, a charity dedicated to ending hunger by empowering smallholder farmers in eastern Africa.

A Gruelling Climb for a Great Cause
The seven-day trek to the summit was no easy feat, pushing the team to their physical and mental limits. Battling steep inclines, altitude sickness, and extreme weather conditions, they kept their spirits high, knowing that every step taken was in support of Food for Good, a UK food industry fundraising campaign for Farm Africa.
Smashing the Fundraising Target
Before setting off, the team set an ambitious goal—to raise £35,000 for Farm Africa. But just like they conquered Kilimanjaro, they also smashed their fundraising target, bringing in an incredible £48,000 to support smallholder farmers in eastern Africa.
Farm Africa’s mission is to help farmers grow more food, improve their livelihoods, and build sustainable futures for their families and communities. Every pound raised by Fairburn’s contributes to transforming lives through agriculture.
A Legacy of Giving Back
At Fairburn’s, we believe in making a difference beyond our farms. Whether it’s supporting local charities in the UK or helping farmers across the world, we’re committed to giving back to the communities that need it most.
