In September 2021, a determined team of sixteen Fairburn’s staff members swapped their daily routines for hiking boots to undertake the National Three Peaks Challenge, aiming to raise £40,000 for Farm Africa.

The challenge involved summiting the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales—Ben Nevis (4,409 ft), Scafell Pike (3,209 ft), and Snowdon (3,560 ft)—all within a grueling 24-hour timeframe. This feat required not only physical endurance but also meticulous planning and unwavering team spirit.

Fairburn’s has a longstanding commitment to supporting Farm Africa, a charity dedicated to building sustainable livelihoods for rural communities in eastern Africa. Over the years, the company has raised more than £60,000 for the organisation through various challenges, including a Mount Kilimanjaro climb in 2014 and participating in two marathons across the Saharan desert in 2018.

The funds raised from the National Three Peaks Challenge will further assist smallholder farmers, pastoralists, and small businesses in seizing commercial opportunities. This support aims to transform land use in ways that reduce emissions, halt environmental degradation, and enhance food security.
