Fairburn’s Eggs supports children’s cancer charity

Feb 21, 2022

Pick up a pack of our Heal’s Shropshire Free Range Eggs – and you’ll be helping to support children with cancer.

We’ll be donating one-pence-per-dozen from our Heal’s eggs sales to the Children With Cancer UK charity, which is on a mission to improve survival rates across all types of childhood cancer.

Our delicious eggs, which are sold in 23 Asda stores around Shropshire, are produced for Fairburn’s by Tony & Helen Heal and their family at Heal Farms, in Shawbury.

Life-saving work

Some 4,500 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. Children With Cancer aims are to determine the causes, find cures and provide care.

“It feels fantastic to help support this brilliant charity and its incredible work for children,” says Tabby Ward, our national brand and accounts manager. “Any money raised by our egg sales will go towards the charity’s research, which has done so much to drive up childhood cancer survival rates.”

Supporting young people

Alisa O’Malley, Head of Individual Giving, Corporate and Major Donors at Children with Cancer UK added: “We are very egg-cited that Fairburn’s is supporting Children with Cancer UK with their Heal’s charity egg packs! It’s such a great initiative that will help to raise vital funds for the charity. Every day in the UK, 12 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer, sadly, of those 12, two will not survive the disease. These young people, and their families, need our support now more than ever and partnerships such as these help us continue to fund vital, life-saving research and find kinder, safer treatments as well as support families when they need it most.”

The Heal’s eggs are not the only brand that’s helping Fairburn’s to fundraise. Sales of our Lincolnshire Free Range Eggs raised £6,250 for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance last year.
