Daniel to take on the Sahara for charity & he needs your help!

Jun 1, 2018

Two heart-pumping marathons in two days across the Saharan desert, with a charity fundraising target of £45,000, is the daunting challenge for Daniel Fairburn later this year.

This tough adventure of a lifetime will take him over sunbaked sand dunes and rugged mountain ranges, sleeping under the stars along the way, all for a cause close to Daniel’s heart – helping fellow farmers and their families.

Daniel Fairburn low resFarm Africa helps combat poverty by working with smallholder farmers in east Africa to increase harvests, become self-sufficient and start businesses. Daniel hopes to raise at least £45,000 during this Saharan Challenge in October, beating the amount he raised four years ago when he climbed Kilimanjaro for Food For Good, a major fundraising campaign set up by the UK food industry to support Farm Africa.

He said: “Thanks to everyone’s extreme generosity, I was able to raise a whopping £45,000 for the Kilimanjaro climb, smashing our original target of £35,000. This autumn, when I tackle the Sahara, I’d love to raise even more. It’s a fantastic cause, helping people in need in a really positive way.”
