HELP END HUNGER IN AFRICA, FOR GOOD
HE'S DONE IT!
Daniel Fairburn has completed two marathons in scorching heat across the Sahara to raise much needed funds for Farm Africa.
Joined by Fairburn’s production manager Egle Kalinauskaite, Daniel braved the 40 degree Moroccan heat and lots of blisters over the weekend to tackle the challenge.
Team Fairburn’s fundraising total now stands at over £21,000 which means they are well on their way to beating the £35,000 Daniel raised for the charity when he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2014.
A big thank you all our sponsors Moba, Vencomatic Group, Premier Nutrition, Conexpak, Sheard Packaging, Sodesa, and Hendrix Genetics.
And a special thank you to Hy-line whose MD Omead Serati kindly joined them on their adventure and is also raising money for Farm Africa.

WHY FARM AFRICA?
We began our family business, L J Fairburn & Son Limited, with just 150 chickens and £150 in the bank. Starting small and growing sustainably is what we are about and whilst it may be on a different scale we feel that growth and prosperity can be achieved in eastern Africa.
Farm Africa’s approach to ending hunger is to tackle the root causes. Helping smallholder farmers produce bigger harvests is a sustainable long term solution. Farmers learn to produce more food so there’s enough to eat for their families and communities – for good.
For us this challenge is not just about financial investment but providing the skills to farmers so that they can grow and develop.
As food producers we have more to offer than simply financial support and look forward to getting involved in projects in the local communities of Africa. The farmers trained by Farm Africa go on to train other farmers in their area through “Farmer Field Schools”. Providing practical tools, improved seed varieties and training we can help African Farmers feed Africa’s people!
We are rising to the challenge and you can too, by helping us support Farm
Africa, either through sponsorship or by donating to our Just Giving page.
Please support us in any way you can.
Thank You!
Daniel Fairburn - CEO - LJ Fairburn & Son Ltd
"Farm Africa is thrilled that Daniel and all at L J Fairburn are supporting our work in eastern Africa once again through this adventurous challenge. Everything raised will help Farm Africa to deliver impactful and sustainable projects, working with smallholder farmers and their communities. We wish the team every success!"
